Before birds sang, Moon fell in love with Sun. One day, she watched Sun
as he bathed in the ocean, and sang quietly to the birds of her love.
They echoed her song as best they could, and knowing Moon had as much
inner beauty as she did outer, added: "Go and tell him."
Moon approached Sun, and her shadow fell before him, but he thought it
was a stag. Quickly, he ran in pursuit, brushing past Moon and nearly
knocking her over.
Moon never mustered her courage to approach Sun again, and that is why
the moon follows the sun in secret, and why with every coming of the sun,
the birds sing Moon's song.
